I attended a Naturalization ceremony in 2016 and it was beautiful... except for the video of Trump giving a canned speech about welcoming immigrants from all countries and religions. You could tell he didn't believe what he said. The entire speech was delivered through clenched teeth.
If you've ever been to a naturalization ceremony, you know they're filled with people whose palpable love of this country is twenty times stronger than the pinched "patriotism" of any native-born MAGA chud.

Are you in the Apple ecosphere and want to leave? I did and here's what I did. I turned off iMessage and purchased a OnePlus 12. I switched to Whatsapp for messaging and video calls. I use my Synology NAS for photo storage. All my other apps had Android versions. OnePlus makes Android feel like iOS.

It is unlikely that everything one person says is bad. Even Trump says things that make sense on occasion. Researching the person you're vilifying before attacking them. Did Charlie Kirk say some positive things? I never heard the positive side of his speeches because the negative was aimed at me.

My condolences go out to Charlie Kirk's family. While I did not agree with Charlie philosophically, I never wished death on him. Now his family must continue through life without a husband and father. Political violence is never the answer.

I am 2/3rds done with my visa application. Fingers crossed, a couple of months later, I will be on my way out of this shithole country. I must leave friends, family, and home behind. It must have been hard when my ancestors came over from Cork, Ireland. They are probably quite sad seeing us return.
