I made a quiz about the JS Date parser is. It's very easy and you will score very high.

PHP Devs (or even JS Devs 😱) in the Lexington area, come out for a Meetup next week! I’ll be giving a talk on InertiaJS with Laravel. And stay for a drink afterwards!
Next Thursday at 7PM (July 10):
InertiaJS: The best of both worlds
It allows you to create fully client-side rendered, single-page apps, without the complexity that comes with modern SPAs. It does this by leveraging existing server-side patterns that you already love.

@calebporzio.bsky.social I’ve got to say (dad of 4 here, 6m to 5y), your description of multiple hours with just one kid (!) working outside sounds like heaven. An unrealistic fantasy as this point in my life, but sounds really nice. Anyway, back to the joy/mostly agony.

Woah… I’ve been event source curious for a while and this was a great explanation of how events work vs just Eloquent models. The time-traveling bit was especially satisfying. Now what about States instead of Models… ?
Hey @nunomaduro.com I made you a video!

@cmorrell.com Sounds like the next logical evolution of your spreadsheet. Which would have helped me not be an hour late to my parents today. 🙄

The answer to personal budget (app vs spreadsheet) is… do both with a custom shortcut (Apple only sorry) that submits a Google Form. Gives you an “app” for logging expenses on the go (POS) and it’s backed by a Google Sheet where you can go wild. No more remembering expenses a month later.
This week Ian is joined by @calebporzio.bsky.social. We talk about recent purchases, Flux multi-select, and we do a Business Dad corner about hiring.

Sharing this writeup I did a while back for a kinda interesting module federation setup with Vite/Vue.

Introduction I work on an application at work that has an interesting (and maybe overcomplicated) setup. It's a "web portal" deal which handles authentication of users and gives permissions to a set of "modules". The web portal and each of these modu...
