A young gal who was showing some thigh
Caught the eye of a very cute guy.
But alas he lacked nerve;
Failed to speak up with #verve.
He could NOT even muster a "Hi."

Said a gal to the lawyer, "and hence..."
He broke in with "Divorce
Is an option, course."

Absolutely. I love Southern Utah. Driving with my grandchildren and my son through the deserts is one of my favorite things to do. I like writing about what we say to each other and some of the things we see and experience.

This weekend, I didn’t work on my chapbook at all. I drove around the deserts of Southern Utah with my grandchildren and eating at small local diners. We went to a small castle pioneers built to hide from desperados, too. I still wrote some poetry though. Living life. #WritingCommunity #Writing.

The bells rang crooked that Christmas in Arles with silver, sorrow, and madness. Vincent hung his tragic, tinsel dreams along cracked yellow walls. Somewhere, heaven laughed.

My new poem: “Vincent’s Bells Rang Crooked (1888)”

Vincent’s Bells Rang Crooked (1888): A Christmas Poem
On a bleak Christmas in Arles, Vincent van Gogh’s tinsel dreams turned to madness. Between Gauguin’s cigarette smoke and the whisper of angels in turpentine, holiness and horror blurred. This South…

That’s really cool. I’ve published a bunch of poetry traditionally but I’m having so much fun doing what I’m doing now that I’m not too worried about it.

Ethan Thompson on SubStack just asked, “Do you still write when nobody is engaging?” Me: yes. I wrote poetry when no one read my blog. I have poetry notebooks that will never be put online and I’m the only reader of that stuff. So yeah, I write no matter what. #WritingCommunity #Writing.
