I loooooved getting to draw some wacky expressions in this one
This is the kind of stuff I grew up seeing in the Pokemon anime etc so it was great getting to put something similar to paper here (and of course it was a great opportunity to reference the attack from Sonic Riders lol)

some thoughts (riddled with odd mixed metaphors) i posted earlier on the topic of static characters (re: discussions on sonic character writing)
a static character is a deep cavern—the cavern itself doesn't grow or change, but every time you venture deeper into it you discover new elements which make it up using Lupin as an example, he's never going to be fundamentally changed to the core of his person by any particular adventure and carry that with him into the next one—but on each adventure you get to see a new side of him that hasn't always been explored before a static character isn't static in the sense that they are a flat, unmoving piece of cardboard that you can see once and move on from, having seen all there is to see it's in the way you can always come back to them and know there's more to see within the steady unchanging depths
