(FWIW, I'm generally skeptical of conservative and adjacent Substack numbers since they're easy to inflate with sockpuppets and it's a ridiculously cheap way to leverage a small outlet's reach by making it look more popular via opt-in subs.)

The Free Press has 170k subscribers. The CBS Evening News has ~3.7 million viewers. It's a totally different scale.

If you're blogging, you can spend years repeatedly misrepresenting campus protestors and Robin DiAngelo, but a mass TV audience is just going to change the channel.

Reactionary centrist propaganda requires making stuff up about the left to match what the right is doing. You can get away with it when you’re running a glorified blog, but it’s pretty hard to say, generate footage of someone invading the Capitol with a Harris / Walz flag.
