I'm hanging in there - hope you're doing well too!

For anyone else seeing this, yes, I'm a G1 Transformers nerd. Tyler saw a post I made referencing that and sent me signed comics he wrote just because he's awesome. One of the high points of my Twitter days, along with the awesome handpainted shoes @julierobbartist.bsky.social made for me

It really was. Such a kick in the gut for the people working to preserve it

It took forever to get to this point, I know, but I'm so happy they're part of our home and still very much appreciate the gesture. It was very kind and the story you wrote was fantastic. Nice to find you here and thought you might enjoy knowing what you did is still meaningful. Thank you! 😊

@papiblez.bsky.social Hey, I don't know if you'll remember but way back in 2021ish I posted some photos of my Constructicons on Twitter and you sent me signed comics. We had a lot of transitions after that but today I finally got them framed and look forward to hanging them up!

The Third Presbyterian Church in Chester, PA was one of the town's few surviving landmarks. Progress was being made to turn it into a community art center, but it was destroyed by arson before the plans were completed. www.abandonedamerica.us/third-presby...
The darkened interior of a church with ornate wooden ceiling beams and curved pews. The carpet is red and in the background light streams in through partially broken stained glass windows.

A hallway of seclusion cells at the abandoned Greystone Park Psychiatric Center, demolished in 2015. Woody Guthrie was a patient at Greystone from 1956-61 as a result of his Huntington's Disease. www.abandonedamerica.us/greystone-pa...
A long, decayed hallway lined with yellow, green, and blue doors. At the bottom of the doors there is a slit allowing food to be slid in to the person inside.

That's really wonderful. I think both of our chosen subjects can be exploitative if not handled carefully, and the fact that the individuals you photograph are proud to be a part of the exhibitions speaks volumes for your respectful approach.

I would imagine so - and while I think galleries are lovely, there's something to be said for photography finding people in places they weren't necessarily visiting to look at it. I think sometimes that can have a bigger impact, if that makes sense
abandonedamerica.bsky.social
THAT'S AMAZING! I'm so sad I can't get there to see it in person. Do you have any more photos of the exhibit, if I'm not being annoying by asking?

Inside a decades long abandoned industrial bakery in Cleveland, Ohio, that was later used as a storage warehouse for decades more before its final closing. The history here was thick; every corner told a story...

Awesome shots, awesome space. Great set of photos!

I'm a bit late to the party reposting this, but it is terrific to see Marc's work continuing to be recognized for its importance, and positioned where it can reach people who can learn and benefit from it.

The Outsiders exhibition has now been installed at The Courtyard in Hereford, it’s essentially the same version that was displayed inside the Houses of Parliament, plus the case display and the art video. It’s a great venue and well worth a visit.
Photography exhibition with a case display at the front showing two vintage cameras and in the background a series of monochrome portraits

You are doing important work, and I'm happy to see it is continuing to connect with others

I'm not on social media much any more so I missed this but - way to go, friend, that's awesome! I'm so glad your work continues to be not just technically compelling but also hopefully in a position to effect positive change as well

They used to give tours of the actual factory in operation. I can't be 100% sure I never went on one, but I know I went on the Chocolate World ride many times when they had areas that looked like the factory. When I got to photograph the actual factory I had a constant unsettling sense of deja vu

Thank you - and sorry I missed the reply earlier. Did he have any stories about his time there? I've heard the ownership treated the employees relatively well

Thank you! Sorry I missed this ❤️

The cause for the abandonment of western Pennsylvanian neighborhood of Lincoln Way was the subject of wild internet rumors. Though the truth was more mundane, it was perhaps more heartbreaking as well. www.abandonedamerica.us/lincoln-way
Vertical image of a badly deteriorated living room filled with garbage and debris. Stairs and a doorway are discernible, but the floor is collapsing into the basement and the ceiling is sagging precariously overhead with clothing and other objects dangling through it.

The Budd Factory in Philadelphia manufactured everything from train cars to auto bodies to jet and tank parts. By the 1980s, though, their sales had slumped and their factory in Philadelphia was abandoned. www.abandonedamerica.us/the-budd-fac...
