My day 8 #LibFaves25 title is THE PHOENIX PENCIL COMPANY by Allison King. A stellar magical realism historical fiction intergenerational tale. Drawn in by thorough world building, I became so invested in every relationship in this story. And another hat tip to @libro.fm’s librarian program!

It is day 7 of #LibFaves25 and my book for today is Candle Island by Lauren Wolk. I adore the lived in worlds that she creates. I read this in one sitting on vacation which is an ideal way to read it.

For day 6 of #LibFaves25 my pick is The Teacher of Nomad Land by Daniel Nayeri. If I was still in a public library this would be a new Swiss army knife recommendation, it has so many appeal factors. So many kids will fall in love with this story. A WWII story that feels unique.

Day 5 of #LibFaves25 is THE LEAVING ROOM by Amber McBride. Novels in verse are outside my wheelhouse but I found myself swept up in the beautiful language and imagery. Maybe audio is the way to go for verse novels? And she totally stuck the landing with sort of a tricky ending!

My day 4 pick for #LibFaves25 is ACTRESS OF A CERTAIN AGE by Jeff Hiller. A warm and funny memoir and an absolutely top notch audiobook. I was lucky enough to see Jeff Hiller speak at a library event and he is charming and genuine and a brilliant storyteller.
