Reminds me of a recent post by @tressiemcphd.bsky.social about how male loneliness only becomes a social *problem* if lonely men are violent men. Men who feel emasculated are embarrassed, but a particular brand of embarrassment that leads them to become violent.

There isn’t a separate workforce for aging vs disability care. It’s the same underpaid, overstretched direct care workers. Shortages mean younger disabled people lose care, independence, and safety, too. Living in the community will only get harder for people with disabilities.

Not the movie's fault, though! I had a 3 month old who basically hadn't slept since she was born. I would have fallen asleep at anything.

I do think I made fun of it! But I'm pretty sure I fell asleep.

Although the deniability here seems paper thin.

Can anyone check in on this with John Murphy who studies presidential rhetoric at the University of Illinois?

He spoke in Oct 2024 about this rhetoric, saying its vagueness means "…lots of different audiences can fill in lots of different enemies..." while allowing plausible deniability.

A detective might note only one person in my family is a lefty. Maybe the one most likely to take off their left glove to do something and then misplace it? MAYBE.

My family, for instance, is now quite literally "all right." Where did the left hand gloves go? Nobody knows.
