There's been much speculation about the 1,000 tons of #yellowcake removed by convoys from Arlit #Niger since late November. This article suggests they have been airlifted by a Russian military Antonov in several flights, via the al-Khadim airbase in eastern #Libya and Turkish airspace, to Russia.

Part of the background to the fall of El Fasher and RSF atrocities there is the sustained airlift from the UAE to the RSF via Libya - sixty Il-76 flights during October alone.

For the past six months, Haftar-controlled eastern Libya has supplanted Chad as the RSF's most important supply route.

But EU policy faces a public backlash in Libya; its softer components have reached an impasse; and the warlords Europeans are partnering with are escalating their demands.
