Heading to quite possibly my last night shifts as a medical registrar (will still be doing Cardio on-calls).

Lets see what they have to offer.

ECG vs EKG
FBC vs CBC

Regional differences will always remain 🌐. Don't think it matters IMHO.

Even for a literature search, including [TAVI OR TAVR] should be sufficient to include all relevant studies.

America's drift into isolationism will probably be studied in detail 50 years from now.

This is a fiercely sad and damning piece about the reality of one of our most admired professions. What a terrible fate for a dedicated man www.the-londoner.co.uk/nhs-doctor-s...

It is true that playing in the same stadium for a whole tournament is going to give you an obvious advantage

It is also true that despite this, you still have to beat the teams in front of you 👏🏾

Good on Shami to admit the former though

Important thread 🧵 on why just because we *can* do something doesn't mean we *should* do something.

If you get a cardiac arrest call coming in from a NH, most physicians would query about the 'Ceiling of Care' and if not present, have a low threshold to stop for the dignity of the person.
I’ve missed the clashes of US vs UK medicine that used to happen on twitter. Someone sent me this one today and oh boy does it demonstrate one of the many reasons I’m glad I won’t need to rely on American healthcare when sick. A “wild” cardiac arrest being posted online

Fantastic work demonstrating the predictive ability of AI-ECG for HF across large, multi-national cohorts 👏🏽. Would be interesting to see if those deemed 'high risk' would benefit from more regular follow-up and initiation of GDMT early, improving their outcomes #CardioSky #AI #HeartFailure
In the European Heart Journal, we report a novel paradigm for predicting HF risk.

AI applied to a single ECG image. Without risk scores or other testing.
