Different fungi sprout from and around the skull, including red mushrooms with white spots, yellow fan-shaped mushrooms, gray cluster mushrooms, and orange bulbous mushrooms, with green and purple plants filling the background. I dislike that it’s come to me (and many others) personally reaching out new mags asking about their AI policy re: writing, the selection/editing process, and art. However, it’s nice to get a feel for how the magazine responds and treats these questions, bonus when the website is updated after.

"Horror sci-fi banger" is an incredibly generous interpretation of the genre chaos magic going on in this book that I am SO FREAKING EXCITED TO GET TO TELL YOU ABOUT oh my gosh this is gonna be so fun
Author of Whisperwood and editor-in-chief of Tenebrous Press Alex Woodroe's TATRATEA in which a lone researcher arrives at an ancient Romanian manor to investigate the source of a virus driving the world insane, but is quickly locked in and caught between local hyperactive flora, invasive cosmic forces, and her own ability to remain lucid, to Christoph Paul at CLASH for publication in fall 2026 Clash Fall 2026 Alex Woodroe (photo of the author wearing a tenebrous press shirt and wielding a mean rusty axe)

Yes please. I just subbed to a market today that I later learned uses AI art. It's really disappointing. I want my writing as far from AI as I can control and I'm tired of the investigation game.

IMO every publication and every publisher should have a clear statement about their generative AI policy. To dictate what is acceptable writer usage, yes, but also to declare their own usage (or lack thereof). Do they use it for slushreading, editing, illustration, correspondence?
