I mean, what's more plausible: some assassin sneaking in, killing him, and getting out in one minute, or one of the guards walking up to his cell and saying "Alright, the camera is off, and me and the other guard are going to leave for a bit. You know what's expected."

Iirc, that was the image that drew Cameron's inspiration. The story goes that he had a stress-induced nightmare while working on Piranha II that was about killer robots with glowing red eyes walking unnoticed among humanity.

I wonder what else he'll try to do to make his numbers go up. Still waiting on someone to axe Daylight Savings, after all.

Even if its "good", it'll only take a couple of years before the enshittification sets in and the literal bodies start piling up.

That's really how cooked we were at the time, when Dan "Potatoe" Quayle came to the rescue. 😮‍💨

I keep getting the feeling that if Trump was a manager that made less than $100k a year, he would have died 15 years ago.

I love how the typos slowly start creeping in.

Oh I loved that game! I played it on the Commodore 64, despite being terrified of the back part of the basement my dad had it set up in. I think it was the first game I learned how to do a text command to run.

"Freedom of Speech, Even for That Guy"

Ahhh, okay. So the expressions on the other two guys are supposed to a respectful but slightly wearied 'Yeah, yeah, we get it Jim. Just say your piece and we'll move on.'

It brings up what I'm looking for in a search, so good enough for me.

I didn't know there was a term for those. Nice!

Fuck man, there are plenty of white Americans born here that take stop signs as suggestions on their way to scam people. The double standard is staggering.

Man, I hate how low the bar is. And I actually agree: someone liked the idea so much they put the effort into it, so I kinda respect them for making a fake.

Q: What does the 'N' on the University of Nebraska's football helmet stand for?

A: Knowledge.

An uncomfortable amount of which is the n word.

*front window shatters, you see a brick with a t-shirt duct taped to it in your living room*

"...and shipping was still $35?!"

I mean, I know which one would belong to which company, but that's part of my actual job that pays for my rent.
December 4, 2025 at 4:23 PM
It stepped away from the traditional fantasy setting, having little to do with crystals or the job system. It felt different compared to the other five games.
December 2, 2025 at 7:32 PM
Yeah, the more I think about it, its probably just the graphics and style of the models I'm going on about. Hell, if we're talking about departures from the core Final Fantasy aesthetic, 6 was probably the starting point.
December 2, 2025 at 1:51 PM
Mostly in terms of looks and aesthetics, but mechanically the games start to feel different. 9 was intentionally a callback to the older games, but starting with 10, they all have that realistic look you see in 8, and have a much more fluid way to assign abilities than the older games than Jobs.

8 was the first modern Final Fantasy. Its also the only one released in the 90s I didn't play.
