trying this guy out because i have strong feelings about this one!
The Kirby argument template developed by @anthonymoser.com. The Frame is "People often regret getting an abortion." The Negation is "The most common emotion after an abortion is relief." Kirby is, instead of negating the frame, eating it, and saying "They are using the threat of future bad feelings to try to short-circuit your ability to make a decision based on what you actually want and need. Getting an abortion can feel sad and still be the right choice."

Myth: “Medication abortion can be reversed.”

Truth: There is no scientific evidence that abortion can be "reversed" or interrupted safely or effectively. 🛑

Myth: “You can only have a medical abortion in a clinic.”

Truth: Many people safely self-manage abortion (SMA) at home using approved pills. 🏡💊

Myth: “Abortion causes breast cancer.”

Truth: Nope.

Evidence shows there’s no causal link between abortion and breast cancer.

Myth: “People often regret getting an abortion.”

Truth: The vast majority of people feel relief, not regret.

This is one of the most persistent (and wrong) scare tactics.

Myth: “Abortion causes infertility.”

Truth: Evidence shows abortion does not increase infertility risk.

In fact, people can get pregnant right after an abortion.

Here in the U.S., independent clinics provide the majority of abortion care, yet remain under-resourced and under constant attack. Still, indies show up daily with expert, compassionate care because our communities deserve nothing less. 2/3

Today is Black Women's Equal Pay Day: 191 days into this year, Black women have just caught up to earning what white non-Hispanic men were paid in 2024 alone. The pay gap adds up to nearly $1 million in lost wages.

Pay Equity for Black Women is still 200 Years Away — Feminist
This country was built by Black women’s labor — stolen, unpaid, underpaid — and equity delayed, is equity denied. Black women shouldn’t have to wait 200 more years to be paid what they’re owed.

Remember that our rights and fights are intertwined

Trump v. CASA:
Trump issued an Executive Order to end birthright citizenship for some immigrants’ children born in the U.S. SCOTUS didn’t rule on the EO but imposed strict limits on nationwide injunctions, leaving fewer tools to block harmful, unconstitutional laws while challenged in court.
abortioncare.bsky.social
Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic:
The court ruled South Carolina can block Planned Parenthood and its patients from using Medicaid for any services there. This opens the door for other states to defund reproductive health clinics and push care out of reach.

EMTALA update:
After Roe’s fall, the Biden admin protected emergency abortion care in hospitals, even in ban states. Last month, those protections were rescinded. EMTALA still requires emergency care, but without clear guidance, confusion and legal risks now endanger pregnant patients and providers.

United States v. Skrmetti:
Tennessee passed a law banning gender-affirming care for minors, even with provider guidance and parental consent. SCOTUS let it take effect, claiming it doesn’t discriminate against trans people, though cis youth can still access the same treatments.

Sweeping federal budget cuts:
The new federal budget slashes social, health, and environmental programs while giving tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. Millions will lose health coverage, and hundreds of Planned Parenthood clinics face defunding, putting lives and essential care at risk.

From the Supreme Court to federal budgets, there’s a lot happening in DC right now — and it’s hitting our communities hard. Here’s a quick round-up of what went down and what it means.
