"According to [cybersecurity firm] CHEQ, a whopping 75.85 percent of traffic from X to its advertising clients' websites during the weekend of the Super Bowl was fake."

The majority of traffic from Elon Musk's X may have been fake during the Super Bowl, report suggests
These numbers are legitimately shocking.

/6 Out of curiosity and given the attention in the UK right now on age verification, I accessed 15 gore sites yesterday from my own list, from a UK IP address. Aside from some having a tick box confirming you are 18, none of them had any form of age verification in place.

5/ In the UK alone, the most visited gore-related websites receive up to 334,000 visits per month

4/ Violent misogynists, including incels, are viewing content depicting violence against women on gore sites. A popular incel forum has 2,000+ posts directing users to gore-related websites, some of which advertised purchasable folders of videos of women being murdered.

3/ Many of the sites enable straightforward downloads of illegal content, feeding its proliferation across social media and the rest of the mainstream internet

2/ There is a general lack of safety mechanisms on these sites, and illegal content on them can easily be discovered via mainstream search engines

1/ Analysis of 24 gore-related sites found 12,000+ terrorist images and videos, particularly Islamic State propaganda and right-wing terrorist attack footage.

Pleased to have had the opportunity to contribute to this research with Human Digital and @vox-pol.bsky.social.

The ongoing proliferation of illegal content on gore sites is undermining broader efforts to counter terrorism and other harms online.

Among the key findings of the research:

Both Bitchute and Gab this week have withdrawn from the UK in response to obligations placed on them under the Online Safety Act

Meta: "We've never wanted to be arbiters of truth."

Also Meta: "We will decide whether your race science claims are 'unsupported' or not."

On which note, clock this.

Old rules banned claims of "inferiority" based on "intellectual capacity"

New ones ban "unsupported comparisons between PC groups on the basis of inherent intellectual capacity."

Sorry, what does "unsupported" mean? Is race science OK now if you chuck in a dodgy chart?

A less discussed aspect of normalization of the far right is the attacks on anyone using pre-normalization assessments and terminology.

This has been going on for over a decade, in Europe and the U.S., where the term “far right” is being squeezed tighter and tighter until it only refers to Nazis.

Members of Werwolf Division, an Italian neo-Nazi group disrupted by police on 4 December, reportedly attempted to make contact with Hamas as part of an intention to mount anti-Semitic attacks. The group had also discussed assassinating Giorgia Meloni. It had a firearms training camp near Bologna

Last Monday, Turkey became the latest country to be targeted by the tidal wave of far-right terrorism, by an attacker seemingly inspired by the Atomwaffen Division and other neo-Nazi predecessors.
