Ah. It's the anniversary of my grandfather's death. It always manages to sneak up on me.

He passed before the pandemic. It's hard to wrap my mind around how many years it's been already. He spent the last ten years of his life traveling. Still feels like he'll come round again someday.

Am I happy about it? Meh. I am sure I could think up a better ending. But, I think it's serviceable. Especially because as weak as it is, it does feel very natural.

And yet, Zag offering him a chance at a better path forward, one where he can be grampa time, and not the titan is so quintessentially Zag that I can't even be mad. Fuck, 99% of the first game is Zag trying to get his dysfunction family talking again.

Experience. I feel as if Hades 2 is being judged on its own merit. Which is fine and reasonable. Yet, I can't help but feel you should look at Hades and Hades 2 as one piece of media. When viewed through that lens

It's still a weak ending. Chronos getting redemption feels weak.

I knew from the moment I beat it that a lot of folks were going to dislike it. I myself am lukewarm on it.

At its most basic read, it's a bit anticlimactic and robs Mel of some agency.

On the other hand, it perfectly encapsulates the exact same lessons and morals that made Hades such a great
