It honestly feels almost quaint for NIMBY academics to put out a new paper calling YIMBYs market fundamentalist "deregulationists" when a democratic socialist is now the most prominent YIMBY mayor in the country. publiccomment.blog/p/sure-it-wo...
Sure, it works in practice, but does it work in theory?
Another swing and a miss from the supply skeptics

Adding supply works immediately.
A heck of a chart: in every single one of the 10 major US cities that built the most housing between 2017 and 2023, rents for older, existing units fell—often by quite a bit.

This should be repeated by every elected Dem every day until each of these losers resign.
Today, I am calling on Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and other top officials in the Trump administration to resign immediately due to their reckless and unlawful disclosure of national security secrets. Their actions have put our country at risk, and immediate accountability is necessary

I spent nearly ten years working for the Treasury at the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. An amazing team doing a very important job. The danger here needs to be understood. This happening at the same time as the debt ceiling being hit is a risk of a disaster of epic proportions.
Here is Adam Levitin on how the Treasury payment system works, and some of the damage that messing with it could cause.

The US has two options in the next few decades:
1️⃣ Massively scale up condo, townhouse, and small-lot housing production; or
2️⃣ Stop being a homeownership society and watch the wealth gap skyrocket.

Chilly but exciting event to celebrate the completion @kcstreetcar.org of track construction. Your TDD board was there to represent ratepayers in the special district that funds the local construction share and 100% of operations. #RideIn2025
