BREAKING: We're asking the Supreme Court to reject the Trump administration's attempt to revive its discriminatory passport policy.

Lower courts were right when they stopped the the State Department from denying transgender, non-binary, and intersex people accurate identification.

We’re in court today fighting for Mohsen Mahdawi and Rümeysa Öztürk.

Mohsen and Rümeysa were released from ICE detention on bail after they were detained by the Trump administration in retaliation for their speech in support of Palestinian human rights.

The First Amendment protects all of us.

BREAKING: President Trump is again asking the Supreme Court to let him end birthright citizenship.

The administration can't dodge the fact this executive order is illegal.

We'll keep fighting to ensure no child's citizenship is stripped away by this cruel and unconstitutional order.

BREAKING: The Massachusetts Senate passed the Massachusetts Data Privacy Act S.2608, which would provide strong privacy protections for us all — including a complete ban on sale of sensitive data.

ACLU of MA and our fellow advocates applaud this action to protect our democracy and personal safety!

We're in court today defending Quincy residents’ right to separation of church and state.

This lawsuit aims to stop Quincy’s plan to install two 10-foot-tall statues of saints to a new public safety building. In Quincy, and everywhere, there must be a separation of church and state.

Three decades ago, we took the National Endowment for the Arts to court for rescinding grants to four applicants whose work was deemed too controversial by the government.

Now, the NEA wants to force artists to adhere to President Trump's anti-trans agenda — and we're suing, again.
NEA Funding Provision Threatens Queer Art and Free Expression
From the “decency” fights of the 1990s to today’s “gender ideology” rule, the NEA’s funding shifts are sidelining queer voices. The ACLU is pushing back to protect artists.
