Diana the tuxedo cat decided to lay down on my upper back while I'm standing (despite my chronic back pain and the difficulty I face leaning forward like this). As long as she is comfy, I'm simply an object for that comfort.

My (HC Arts) work in progress painting of an annual cicada in her little art studio. The art studio has wood grain walls, wood panel floors, leaf rugs, some shelves, a small tea table, a wash station with a stone basin, some planthopper friends, and her art supplies. For her paint colors to use on her canvas, she has a raspberry, blueberry, and turmeric for pigments. The annual cicada is using the shaving brush planthoppers to paint on the canvas. A close up of the wooden plaque I've been painting on to show the little details so far in the newest shaving brush planthopper. This one has blue pigment that it has to go to the wash station to rinse out before it can be used as a paint brush again.

One side of the upcycled tissue box I painted on. This has some red shaggy fungi and tan bolete looking fungi growing on this side in some grass, with a cicada sitting on one of the fungi, and an ant on a branch. This shows two side of the upcycled tissue box I painted on. There are more tan fungi and a red capped mushroom. There is a spider web connected to the red mushroom. There are more ants crawling on branches and another cicada on top of one of the tan fungi A better look at the side of the upcycled tissue box with the cicada on top of brown bolete looking fungi, and another ant on a branch. All the sides of the box have grass painted on them to tie everything together This side of the upcycled tissue box has more of the same mushrooms seen on the other sides (tan bolete looking fungi and the red capped, shaggy stalked fungi). This side has some branches with ants crawling on them.

This is my side view photograph of some visually similar mushrooms to lumpy bracket fungi, or other similar shelf fungus. This white fungi was growing out of a stump and had a ton of water droplets coming out of the underside of the mushrooms, which is known as guttation. These are the undersides of some fuzzy splitgills I photographed. These had little droplets of guttation excreting out of the gills of the fungi, which made them appear glittery.

One of my current work in progress paintings of the wolf spider Bard sitting on the large white mushrooms. The spider Bard is holding a little guitar, is wearing a green medieval Tudor hat that has bug wings as the feathers. The spider also has some leather pouches on its back for storage, and a harp hanging off its carrying capacity (spiders never have to buy replacement strings! They can just make them). I have also painted cicada wings as a cape for the spider. Today I added a little spring peeper Woodland frog next to the spider. The frog is wearing a little green and orange jester hat and collar.

I have been too busy to do art stuff lately, but got some window cling hung up that casts rainbows when the sun shines (it boosts my dopamine lol). My art (HC Arts) of a scratch art paper zentangle design featuring a cicada sitting on a log with cordycep fungi sprouting from it, mushrooms in the background, and other little abstract designs incorporated within this. I freehand everything with etching tools. The brand of scratch art paper was something called like, 'purple ladybug' and while the colors were great, the paper quality itself was not. I usually recommend the Melissa&doug brand for these little scratch art note size papers!

The cicada is using fruit for paint, has leaves for rugs, and a leaf dripping water into a bath station for the planthoppers. The cicada is painted to look like an adult annual cicada. I'm torn if I wanna add any sort of glitter to the body portion, or simply just on the wings. Maybe a metallic black on the body?

My current WIP painting of isopods as little adventurers on a log. The bigger isopod has archery equipment (like a bow and some arrows), plus a bag and lamp. The smaller isopod is supposed to appear like it's learning from its superior. There are a couple honey fungi near the faces of the isopods as well as a cluster of honey fungi growing from the log in the background as well.

My paper sketch mock up of my painting idea I've commented this under! It's a cicada using the shaving brush planthopper as paint brushes while working on a canvas. I also anticipated painting some sort of natural items the cicada would be able to get pigment from, like berries (or the turmeric for yellow that I decided to add in to the actual painting). In the full painting (not just the close up), I'll have a little wash station in the back for the planthoppers to rinse their paint off, with a leaf dropping water into the stone bath. Planned for a shelf and canvases in the back of the cicada's art studio. Decided to use leaves for the rugs! I love them so much.

My original idea/ painting work in progress (HC Arts) of a cicada painting in its little art studio with some berries and turmeric for primary color pigments, and shaving brush planthoppers for paint brushes. The cicada is holding one of the planthoppers to apply red pigment to their canvas, while another planthopper sits next to the cicada.

My meme of petfinder.com, pretending to look at the search section specifically for bunnies, but I half ass photoshopped a pitbull in bunny ears into one of the pet thumbnails to make fun of the various breeds they will often mislabel pitbulls as on their site. (I love pitbulls and think they are super cute!! but it makes me giggle when I scroll through and see the breed say "golden retriever", and it is absolutely not even close lol)

Reminiscing on one of the past upcycled purses I sold a few years ago 🍄

The moon and stars painted in this had glow in the dark paint incorporated to the as well 🌌

Upcycled plaid patterned purse after I painted some simple red fungi with white stalks and spots. Above the fungi painted on the purse, I added a little yellow moon and some yellow dots to represent stars. The moon hides the tiny blemish on the purse I noted in the other alt text. I tried to keep the yellows and reds within the color scheme of the purse. Thrifted plaid patterned purse before I painted on it to upcycle it. The pattern is kind of a tattersall looking plaid, made up of deep greens and blues in the background, and yellow and red lines in the foreground. The only problem with this was a tiny little stain near the top of the purse, which I was able to add a crescent moon over with paint.
