Hello four people,

My name is Andy and I'm a historian of the Georgian and Victorian eras. My day job is in Community Development. I'm queer, enjoy pizza, videogames, Simpsons tattoos and lying down. I will post about all of these things so have fun and enjoy the utter banality of my life.

Excited to share the theme of my next solo history talk - which is all about how history rhymes rather than repeats through a lens of the Scottish Witch Hunts, worker rights, immigration, welfare and rebellion (see this morning's instagram rant).

Based on the above should I
a) Go to the date

Really need to find the thing I wrote about how Final Fantasy XIV helped me 1) realise I was non-binary and 2) explore it in a fun and interesting way through storytelling, headcanon and styling.

Can we live in a society where people don’t go to jail for protesting but do go to jail for putting their shopping trolleys horizontally in front of the shelves while they analyse the ingredients on different pies?

They’d have to arrest half of Kirky and I’M FINE WITH THAT.

How it feels transferring £10 from my rent account to make sure my loan gets paid, then transferring £10, at a cost of £2 from my credit card back into my rent account to make sure my rent gets paid.

Garngad Gardens will be our community's garden. Bringing back the name Garngad, after it became Royston in 1942, is our way of reclaiming our heritage and saying that we're more than statistics, we're more than what the newspapers said we were. That people here are proud of being from the Garngad.

Royston ranks in the bottom 2% on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation. 7/10 in children are in relative or absolute poverty. 84% of our community have no, or limited access to a garden.

Despite this, the pride in our community is immeasurable because of the hard work of our community orgs.

I think the thing with AI psychosis is that it would not happen to me. If the AI was like “that’s so intuitive. Thank you for sharing such an important and meaningful piece of information with me. You are a smart person.”

Does anyone notice in this clip that it is two women telling a man he is using homophobic language. The rest of the men on the panel say nothing.

I think it says a lot about where the threat in society comes from for minorities, LGBTQI people’s and women.

This is where we are, a homophobic slur used by a politician on national television. His denials show a man either ignorant of what words mean or so comfortable using homophobia in day to day speech he didn’t care.
