VFX Artist. I expect to mostly talk about politics and geek stuff— media, games, comics.
There was some general expectation that this was likely to be announcing war with Venezuela, which probably merits network time.
Honestly, kind of grateful we just got the whining.

I don’t think there’s much question.

It was a Forge baby— it looked at GNS and said ‘what DnD is going to be the absolute best at is perfectly honed *Gamism*’. And that’s a credible take!

It’s just that contrary to theory, most RPG players do not actually want unadulterated G, N or S.

Yeah, I mostly stuck with 3e for that reason.
But I think it’s a key reason why 4e can be the most balanced edition and very successful on its own terms while still being a relatively unpopular version of the game. It was very good at delivering a specific, somewhat narrower experience.

What exactly do you imagine replacing it as a safeguard of free speech on the internet?

I have no idea why we would want to spend Epstein drop day tomorrow bickering about 2024 campaign tactics.

They established it specifically as a *memorial*.

Might as well scrape off the Gettysburg Address so he can have top billing at the Trump-Lincoln memorial.
December 18, 2025 at 9:47 PM
Pretty sick to desecrate a fallen President’s memorial like this.

Michael Caine has retired. But I wonder if they can get Count von Count…
December 18, 2025 at 9:26 PM
Yes.

Perhaps the OH candidate should not focus their message on it. But making immigration a losing issue for him is *actually* useful strategy— and framing it around his anti-Latino bigotry is more useful (including in Florida, specifically) than letting them frame it around “border security”.
December 18, 2025 at 9:01 PM
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen an RPG quite as hostile to theater of the mind as a play style.
December 18, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Bluesky is *very* touchy about arguments that we shouldn’t be on Bluesky.
December 18, 2025 at 5:10 PM
1) control of salience is imperfect. You’re going to have to fight on immigration because the GOP can and will force the issue.

2) given 1, you need to break the things propping them up, not just keep wishing we were only talking about healthcare.

Why the daisy?
December 18, 2025 at 1:15 PM
I didn’t read it as a Force overdose; it looked like the great strain from a heroic effort, pushing himself beyond human limits to project himself across the galaxy.
December 18, 2025 at 6:52 AM
I don’t understand why nobody has asked him how much a $1000 drug cost becomes if you reduce its price by 600%
December 18, 2025 at 6:45 AM
I thought they says yesterday that it was going to be about his ‘accomplishments’? Like he feels the narrative slipping away from him and thinks the bully pulpit can reverse it—
Trump’s malaise speech.
December 18, 2025 at 5:38 AM
Man. A hall of presidents in the White House could be a really good, somewhat theatrical idea. But the guy just can’t stop being himself for five minutes.
December 17, 2025 at 7:01 PM
I don’t think I can go into much depth in the length of a skeet without sounding like I’m excusing a horrific error in judgment.

Very, very glibly, I didn’t believe Bush and Cheney had the ability to gaslight the national security establishments of both the US and UK.

I was wrong and foolish.
December 17, 2025 at 12:05 PM
Bush told us they had weapons of mass destruction and refused to disarm. Many if us were foolish enough to believe him. It also tied to the larger traumas of 9/11 and a nation that felt angry and vulnerable.

Here… there isn’t even a *pitch* for why this would be necessary.

Yet another example of the techligarchs cramming AI into every aspect of the lives of a vocally unwilling public?
December 17, 2025 at 12:00 AM
He’s mostly switched to voice (perhaps related to the allegations?). Post-SV he’s voiced two games, two movies and 78 eps of TV across three series. Plus a handful of scattered live action roles.

That’s a pretty solid five years for a guy who almost-but-didn’t-quite make it huge.
December 16, 2025 at 10:29 PM
The Justice League positioning him as the right-wing counterpart to Green Arrow kinda jaundiced my view a little — but I’m rather enjoying the chance to go back and read the 89 Hawkworld series on Infinite.
December 16, 2025 at 8:46 AM
That’s a lot of continuity!
Do you have a favorite?
December 16, 2025 at 7:51 AM
.... a progressive utopia sounds... good, actually?
