VFX Artist. I expect to mostly talk about politics and geek stuff— media, games, comics.

Do you think [A] is wearing a suit, or did he shapechange? If it IS a suit, is it a Carnation original? Did someone on the Krakoa PR team pick it out for him? Did he buy off the rack? Or is this a Celestial tech costume fabrication thing?
The base would lie about it because their media will continue to tell them to lie about it. Tariffs=good is apparently part of the right wing catechism now. It’s all tribal logic.
I like how virtual Brad Pitt can’t cry.
It’s a real condemnation of America’s legal culture that anything permitted under any exercise of the rules is presented as if it were axiomatically Ok.
Strong agree about Usher.
HH is clearly his best—but Bly is the closest of his other series and probably worthwhile if you came away from it wanting more.
Perhaps: If you (somehow) believe the Trumpist project is in the US interest, then it becomes reasonable to want to support its flourishing overseas. A sort of Marshall plan for awful right wing populists?
Halloween Movie 24:
Oculus (2013, first viewing)

A nice cursed object flick that reminds us of what Mike Flanagan can do when he's on his game.

What a pity. They have always done great supplement work, but the system needs far more than a light dusting to fulfill its universalist ambitions in today’s game space.
Well, she doesn’t spend much time in bars.
I don't see anything that indicates this actually contributes to light pollution any more than any other satellites?
Doesn't overproduce at night and it doesn't ramp up or down to meet demand. Obviously: grid storage addresses this. But it's easier to build 'what we need 95% of the time' and have a supplementary power source that covers the gap than to build massive overcapacity everywhere.
Wildlife outside of the retargeted area should be pretty unaffected, no? Seems significantly less ecologically damaging than the alternative (supplemental coal or natural gas plants to support variable load, and the extraction to support them).
This seems like it could be pretty useful? One of the issues with solar power is that you can’t boost production to compensate for high usage. You can store it, but not really increase the overall daily solar input if things are strained; this might offer that flexibility on a wide basis.
In most cases, ‘we run the popular incumbent governor’ is probably a good play, even if it’s obviously a short term one. I don’t love her being that old, but if your premise is that the fate of the republic depends on 2026/8 Senate control, she might be the best bet.
Jordan Wood is also running.
I mean… that’s why they’re making the GOP do it now, right?
Large portions of his perception of the world simply ceased to update around 1989-1990. If you look for it you can see it in a bunch of places. Of relevance here, it’s when Texas vs Johnson was a newly decided hot-button issue.
Kind of curious what percentage of Drukhari count as civilians.
Kind of harsh thing to say about the Imperium.
Bare minimum, most wildly charitable possible interpretation, failure to address it once it was brought to his attention is a disqualifying level of political incompetence.
I think they kinda stopped caring?
