He has a lot of fans. Speaking as someone who is a longtime hardcore blues fan and sometime blues musician active in the DC blues community - he just doesn't do it for me. The blues cruise crowd digs him, though.

Last time I was there was for the buffet between GD shows in 1992. It was a skanky dump back then but hilariously overrun with wooks.

Was pretty cool. Don’t remember the 3D part really adding much. Kinda surprised they never ran this show as a Dinner and Movie.

My first Phish show was 2 months later at the Bayou. Some dude that night told me they were a great Southern rock band. They did play a ZZ Top tune fwiw.

That was original release poster art. I think it was also used as the cover for the 1977 novelization.

Living Colour often does a whole Sugarhill Gang medley at their shows. Of course, Doug Wimbish was house bassist for the SH Gang.
