The Times under the current Sulzberger is utterly beyond parody.

I'm holding out hope that in 10 years you'll hardly be able to find anyone who was ever a Trump supporter in the same way that in the post-war years everyone you talked to in France had been a maquisard during the war.

I mean I don't know the future, but I do know it's still susceptible to influence, even grassroots influence.

As with a lot of the things they're doing, it's not remotely legal. Which is why high on the list of our first tasks when we retake power will be to overturn Trump v. U.S., reform the pardon power, and hire lots and lots of prosecutors and investigators to hold these people to account.

This kind of societal self-harm brings to mind The Cultural Revolution. The Nazis purged Jews from their universities and imposed very definite ideological red lines, but even they didn't burn them to the ground the way this will.
