I liken my attention to a two setting showerhead...

It's either in the "rain" setting, where *everything* gets a tiny little bit.

Or, it's in the "jet" mode where it's focused exclusively on one thing, and everything else gets nothing.

Same amount of attention, just delivered differently

Real. Low dopamine also makes me feel awful. I'm diagnosed but my doc still doesn't like having me on stimulants because I'm on venlafaxine and can't get off it. Idk what I'm supposed to do because they definitely worked before I had anxiety and I can't focus on things I enjoy except conversations.
