Adolf's Old First Ward Tavern in Buffalo New York had the best Buffalo Wings I’ve ever had. Their Blue Cheese Sauce was next level.

Amazon has them but they’re really expensive on Amazon sadly.

The Watermelon Li Hing Mui gummies are soooooo good.

There are also gummies dusted in Li Hing Mui (Salt Plum) powder that would rock your world.

I’ve eaten at a Tavern named Adolf’s. Which is very much not a commonly used name either.

A little baking powder to make them puffier too - 1 tablespoon per two cups of flour.

I get the 25 lb bag of Thai rice that they sell at Costco.

Mayo is an interesting idea though from the original poster. I haven’t ever tried that but I think maybe spicy mayo or mixed with furikake might be fun.

I just have a little bowl with soy sauce and sesame oil in it and use a silicon basting brush. I love the extra flavor it adds to the rice. I use sushi seasoned vinegar in my rice too rather than plain rice.

I put a little soy sauce and sesame oil between my SPAM and rice. Some people use teriyaki sauce or oyster sauce. Just brush a little on the SPAM. Also juices from the SPAM should drip into the rice if the SPAM was just cooked.

Get a cheap Musubi Press from Amazon or an Asian Store. I put plastic wrap down, nori, then push down a slice of SPAM in the press and brush the backside with soy sauce and sesame oil, then use the press to form the rice before I wrap it up. No wrap needed if you eat right away

It’s less effort than most people think. Takes about 10 min and one extra pan.

Use a medium egg vs a large egg.

Note: the grocery cost didn’t include the various seasonings or the small pats of butter for quesadillas and broccoli (maybe a half-stick total for 2 plates). So probably closer to $10 total for the groceries ($5 plates) if you amortize those costs in as well.

For “Something Else”, cheese to make a quesadilla, ranch powder seasoned sour cream and lemon for the brocolli and a little butter on the warm brocolli and quesadilla. Plus baby tomatoes. Also doubled chicken and broccoli for adult male nutritional needs.

I had about $9 of groceries for 2 plates.

Grits is EASY. I made NOLA-style Creole BBQ Shrimp with Grits last night.

Oh. Buffalo! I’m JELLY. Adolf’s Old First Ward Tavern had the best Wings and Blue Cheese Sauce I’ve ever had in my life. In Chicago, George Street Pub bases their wings on Adolf’s but their blue cheese sauce is thinner (I swear Adolf’s is as thick as chunky peanut butter).

Had a Hawaiian Pizza on Tuesday…. Also a slice of Crab Rangoon Pizza (it’s AMAZING) and some Mac & Cheese Pizza. All from Big G’s in Chicago.
