I recently broke my rule about not playing WW2 games and started painting Victory at Sea 1:1800 ship models. Here we see my Furutaka cruiser desperately lay smoke to get away. It was torpedo and destroyed anyway. Fun game and the ships are painted quickly.

Two archers from the Warprinter Legends of the Forest range. I think they have just the right amount of detail. Does not make for such exciting 3d renders, but they are easily painted.

Played SETI for the first time yesterday. What a game. Pretty impressive how all of this comes together, but it does suffer a little from people just muddeling through without much interaction. Except when you turn the solar system. Then everyone gets mad.

The annoying thing is that I think I’m gradually getting better at this.. whilst each ship I complete makes me even more convinced that I never want to have to do another set of rigging ever again! #BlackSeas

Kind of accidentally turned the week into Fate-of-the-Fellowship-week and played it on three evenings (2x in person, once online) with different people.

First game of LotR: Fate of the Fellowship. We lost Lorien early in the game and it did not get much better from there. We conquered Minas Morgul, but did not manage to destroy the ring before our fellowship cards ran out. #boardgames

Another game of Fire & Stone. After initially progressing quickly the siege gets stuck after the Ottomans have taken the covered way. The game ends with a desperate attack through the middle against the curtain wall. Ottoman victory by a hair's breadth. Down to the final dice role. #boargames

Finally finished my river Trebia for Strength and Honour. Main points were that I wanted it to have no seams and to lie really flat. Its made from wallpaper; painted with acrylics and glued on sand, fleece anf fine flock. Might add water effect on top at some point.

Here are my 2mm Carthaginians for Strength & Honour. Including close order Punic spearmen with attached elephant and skirmisher strips and Punic cavalry in close order and Numidian cavalry in open order.

Played Terraforming Mars for the first time. I like how it's very easy to have very different strategies. I used a lot of buildings and generated a lot of heat and oxygen, while my opponent went mostly for microbes, plants and animals. #boardgames
