I'm deeply worried by what I've heard from organisations in Bristol about LGBTQ+ asylum seekers being the target of hate crime while in unsuitable asylum accommodation - this week I called on the government to act.

The ban on puberty blockers is devastating for many young trans people. Currently the only way to access them is through a government trial - I am asking govt to ensure that the trial can be accessed by as many young people as need it.

If VAWG strategy is to meet the scale of the emergency, it must:

- End underfunding of domestic violence services
- Invest in prevention, incl better education
- Extend support to ALL migrant women, regardless of immigration status
- Include a framework for monitoring delivery

I'm relieved that this week we will finally see the publication of the government's strategy for tackling violence against women and girls. We are facing an emergency - one woman is killed on average every three days, and years of underfunding have left support decimated.

At #PMQs just now, Labour MP Abtisam Mohamed asked Starmer for - amongst other things - the government to consider bringing water companies into public ownership. He said "yes"!

But sadly I don't think this was a Christmas policy U-turn, I think he just wasn't listening properly 🤷
