I didn’t bother to post this on the other site, because what’s the point, but last week my mate Clio died by suicide. She was a DnD friend, trans girl from Louisiana. If you pray, pray for her. If you happen to be able to get to York, I would quite like you to let me take you out for lunch.

On the one hand I am not merely sitting on laurels, because of the work I’m putting into becoming a better host. On the other I am very aware of all the poems I’ve lost because the idea didn’t immediately fill a gap in my set and irrevocably grab my attention

Right, I’ve swapped the icons around on my home screen so muscle memory means I might use this instead of the other app. By ‘use’ I mean ‘lurk and v occasionally post something dreadfully banal’.

I took a break from my performance in about 2020 ‘til last year, because reasons. Thursday i did two perfect 5 min sets. I told jokes; I did some of my meticulously rehearsed off the cuff remarks; and I did poems. Properly. Sheer joy. I’m back.

I’ve had the shape of a poem in my head for a few months, couldn’t for the life of me sit down and write it. On Thursday I had a gig and decided “fuck it” and riffed on the poetic idea. It went down well.

I stopped writing for a bit due to stuff, things, and occurrences. Been trying to get back into the habit and part of me is genuinely worried I’ve lost the knack of it forever. #writing #poetry
