Came here to say this. I remember when we hit 40 million people and it was reported that like 96% of it was because of immigration, the general reaction was just “yay! more Canadians!!” lol

And now, apparently, OCD is treated more like a spectrum. One of those things that everyone falls somewhere on, but the big question is does it interfere with living your life. Like, for me, it's fine to be weird about opening my car door bc I can still get OUT. Just let me be weird about it lol

Yeah! I have a diagnosis of OCD as well, but the guy who did my ADHD assessment said that he could see that I might not meet the criteria once my ADHD is treated. Though it seems to be associated with yet ANOTHER thing, I really appreciated how that was explained. Everything is so knitted together!

something that helped me with my adult diagnosis of dyslexia (that you may know) is that it's really all about a "grouping" of symptoms and their impact on functioning. like, yeah, lots of folks struggle with left and right, but do they ALSO have trouble with clocks, times tables, lists of steps...

I was also misdiagnosed with bipolar at 17! I was treated for it for 17 years and no one really stopped to wonder why nothing they were giving me was helping except making me gain a bonkers amount of weight and fogging me up.

yeah, turns out I have ADHD (and cPTSD, see above lol) real real bad.

he was the best one I’ve ever had! he had some not insignificant misses, but he had enough of the wins like above that I knew he wasn‘t going to “fire” me if I pushed back, which, like. what more can you ask for, yk? I miss him! (I’ve since moved provinces.)

I wasn't offered it until my mid-30s when I essentially had no iron left (only a slight exaggeration lol) after having heavy multi-weeks-long periods since I started at 9 years old. my gp presented it as something for hemophiliacs he's giving me bc no one else will do anything about it, so 🤷‍♀️
