Dude. I 3D print models of Disney rides to display in my basement.

Growing up sucks. Don’t bother. 😆

There’s a club at a local park not far from our house.

I sure do understand. A club is a good way to do it, but it’s still expensive.

We need to meet up in Florida!

We loved the Six. Had a blast, no regrets.

No, I’m done. I have a bunch of other hobbies and projects.

I’m worn out on trying to stay current and managing airplane ownership.

Our plane was down for 3 months for a hard to diagnose issue. After it was fixed, I noticed my skills degraded really fast.

Weird, isn’t it? I’ve never had that feeling when dropping off my car at the dealership for service.

Airplanes really are different. They have feelings. 😆

Yep, Jeremy. I think you all may have met at the booth at OSH but may have missed each other. I’ll have to arrange an SJS meet.

Our aircraft sale went so fast it made my head spin (my broker was money well spent).

I still have a list of a dozen places I wanted to fly. But the time was right.

Stuff just fell into place. UPS was the first to call me. And since I was youngest in my new hire class, I had last choice (no choice) on aircraft. They had engineer slots on the 727 & DC-8. Most of the guys wanted the 727. So I got stuck on the best deal. 😆
December 5, 2025 at 2:08 PM
I’ll fly. I will just let someone else do the work for me. 😀

The DC-8 was a really cool aircraft. I’m so fortunate I had the chance to fly it.

Thanks! It’s fun.

Yep, done flying. I have a friend that will let me be his safety pilot for IFR currency, but that’s about it.

Driving back to OSH for sure. And we want to do some traveling that we couldn’t do with the Six.

I’m also getting back into RC flying!

It was a little sad, but really cool, too. New owners have two early teen kids and are excited to go fly. I’m happy for them!
December 5, 2025 at 3:33 AM
Yeah. I figured it was a good time to let someone else do it. 😁

A few totals for 41 years of flying

25 types (incl a heli)
3 type ratings: J31,DC8,757/767

Total time: 14,278
Our Cherokee Six: 500
Highest type: DC8, 5194
2nd highest: 767, 5100

I’m a fairly low time pro pilot. Living in SDF allowed me to fly reserve on the DC8; really sweet gig while it lasted.

Love this. Keep going, you’re on a roll!

Long and skinny. That checks!

I flew to Bardstown yesterday to get my landing currency.
