Algerian Amb. Bendjama quotes Woodrow Wilson in his speech on occasion of Western Sahara vote at UN Sec Council:

"Self-determination is not a mere phrase. It is an imperative principle of action, which statesmen will henceforth ignore at their peril."

Partition along 1976 line would look as follows.
As Hannah notes, land swaps are likely.
But it's complex:
🇲🇦 will not cede Dakhla investments.
🇪🇭 will aim to keep the land bridge to 🇩🇿 via current 'liberated' territories. But distance is huge and 🇲🇦 will resist.

The $600 billion in market cap that Nvidia lost today is equivalent to a year's worth of global GDP in the 1500s (yes, adjusted for inflation).

We've come a long way, baby! 🙃
