Six weeks ago, I picked up a year-old tawny owl with a broken leg off the main road near our home and dropped him off at our nearest vet.

After a few days, I received one of the most bizarre phone calls I’ve ever had, asking “So when are you coming to pick up your owl?” 🧵

Unfortunately Glasgow already has this, and medicine‘s greatest minds have been unable to figure out why a city with a motorway running through the middle of it has a lower than average life expectancy.

cities with syndromes named after them:

• paris (disappointment)
• florence (becoming over-awed)
• jerusalem (religious fervour)
• stockholm (allegiance with captors, now discredited)

if your city had a syndrome, what would its effects be?

leeds syndrome: just going absolutely fucking feral
