Almost 160,000 pensioners live in poverty in Scotland - more than at any time in nearly 20 years.

It's time to change our systems to deliver security, not struggle, for older people in Scotland.

Ahead of 2026's Holyrood election, we're calling for action.

Sadly housing is a huge issue in the UK still. As the insecurity posed for renters, where the fear of being asked to move becomes more stressful as one gets older. So glad @ageingbetter.bsky.social is highlighting this
Today, we've released our extended and updated homes chapter from our State of Ageing 2025 report.

This latest release reveals that a shocking six million homes in England have damp and mould problems - around one million more homes than have large screen TVs.

The job market is changing and employers are facing huge challenges. There are skills and labour shortages with vacancy rates at record highs. Workers in their 50s and 60s are key to filling these gaps. Yet employers are missing out on all that older workers can offer.

If I've understood correctly, it's good to hear that @unisouthampton.bsky.social is helping work on safeguards for the use of AI in public services and healthcare. AI inclusion in those services is a very scary prospect for so many people and even affects whether some will engage at all.
AI could transform UK public services - but responsible use is key to keeping public trust.

Dame Wendy Hall's report with @dianecoyle1859.bsky.social ‪and @nuffieldfoundation.org explores how we can harness #AI for a better quality of life.
