I stuck by him, too... Even though I had reservations, because I saw the danger in Trump. Doesn't make us stupid, just pragmatic. But there were so many reasons not to, I can't hold it against people for looking for other options.

They had good reason to revolt, and so did progressives. The debate pretty much proved that.

I didn't mean that it should work that way... Just that, unfortunately, that's the way it has worked over the last few decades.

Maybe the most damaging lie that came out of Reagan's mouth was "government is the problem". Systems, ungoverned and unregulated, descend into chaos and corruption. It's time we put that idea into the category of "stupid Reaganism" with trickle down economics.

Everybody ignores the most egregious cause of government inefficiency: understaffing. Five decades of neo-liberal austerity has neglected an overworked and understaffed public sector at all levels of government. Musk is creating more problems than he's fixing.

That's because any political coalition's durability is predicated on support from the donor class. No matter how many folks support it at the grass roots level, if the bankers don't like it, it ain't getting done.

Yeah, I think some people aren't catching on that this, the blatant tyranny, is the point of all the rest... And this is just the beginning. It's only a matter of time before the target is a liberal politician or pundit.

Considering he's 79 and looks like wet popcorn in a Walmart sack, I really hope so.

The dissemination of powers to the states is one of the many impediments to tyranny built into the American system... So be assured that while he may give lip service to "sending it back to the states", he is actively eroding the power of the individual states to resist his will.

Both sides waged almost two decades of a pointless war they both voted for. Both sides are dedicated to Neo-Lib/Neo-Con ideology. And neither side gives a wet squirt about anyone below the upper class unless it's an election year.
April 14, 2025 at 5:15 AM
Careful now, if you start pointing out how both sides do this and both sides do that, people will start calling you a leftist. Like they do me.

But as long as we're here.... Both sides are corrupt and sold out to the billionaire class.

I feel like Shakespeare’s Ophelia sometimes, yelling into the void about TESCREAL, Dark Enlightenment, network cities, etc.

No-one is paying enough serious attention to this nihilistic philosophy that drives many of the “broligarchs.”

And it all smacks of the most ridiculous conspiracy theories.
