California's Attorney General. Standing up for all Californians and fighting injustices as the People's Attorney. Official Bluesky account.
In California, we recognize ghost guns for the threat that they are, and we’re taking action to protect our communities from the ghost gun industry.

At CA DOJ, we’ll continue to take on illegal actors who exploit technology to undermine public safety.

Whether the Trump Admin is attempting to militarize our cities or cut funding for our seniors, our sick, or our poor, we’ll continue to fight to protect our most vulnerable, uphold the rule of law, and hold the Trump Admin accountable.

Today marks 53 years since the landmark decision in Roe v. Wade protected the fundamental right to an abortion, until 4 years ago.

Now, the U.S.’s most vulnerable are paying the price.

In CA, we’ll continue to defend this essential right and ensure abortion remains safe, legal, and accessible.

Trump has been clear from the start about who he was and what his intentions were.

That’s why my team and I immediately reviewed Project 2025—and prepared responses to its potential illegal actions.

We can’t abandon our principles, our California values, just because the President has put a target on our state.

The stakes are far, far too high to sit this one out.

One year ago, Trump was sworn in.

Since then, we’ve filed 54 lawsuits to hold the administration accountable for its lawlessness.

This is not about political differences: This is about a wholesale attack on California’s people, our values, and our progress.

And we won't back down.

Since President Trump has taken office, I’ve filed 54 lawsuits against him and his Administration — more than one a week.

If he continues breaking the law, California will continue holding him accountable.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. taught us that justice isn’t self-fulfilling. It requires courage, vigilance, and collective action.

Together we can honor Dr. King not just with words, but with action — by building a California, and a country, worthy of his dream. #MLKDay
