It's about Informed consent and the duty of oncologists to inform their patients which sadly mostly doesn't happen.

It's never been about your hair or your life. It's about a patient being fully informed, not playing the possibility down, offered any alternatives, offered scalp cooling which has shown to mitigate the risk.

I'm sorry about your friend.
Every year I used to have the jab, the following day without fail I would take to my bed for 5 days thinking I was dying. Didn't have one last year nor this year and touch wood I've been good not even a cold. I make my hubby get one though just not for me.

So, on Wednesday I'll be having a one sided mammogram for the first time in all these years plus an ultrasound on both.
I had 2 friends that died of cancer caused by radiotherapy one of them 20 years after so I get where he's coming from.

It's not frivolous, vain or 'just' hair - ever.
Women left with permanent hair loss from mostly Docetaxel are having to live looking like a cancer patient forever, when they aren't one, and see their diagnosis in the dreaded mirror 🪞.
