The new Pope is cool AF

Pope Leo told U.S. bishops visiting him at the Vatican on Wednesday that they should firmly address how immigrants are being treated by President Donald Trump's hardline policies, attendees said, in the latest push by the pontiff on the issue. For @reuters.com:

That’s because it’s so big and influential it has transcended the need for currency. Or members. Or any policies. Or any leaders. Or anything.

Weird how Antifa never asks me for money. Everyone else does, but Antifa is very quiet.

I love how President Trump thinks the existence of mass-produced placards - on high quality paper - absolutely clinches the case for the existence of a vast, well-funded radical left paramilitary force poised to turn every American trans at bayonet point.

I don’t mean to be ghoulish but it’s looking like the Grim Reaper will come calling long before Lady Justice gets around to it.

I suspect many Americans will be able to live with that so long as it brings the madness to an early end.

Good for them. Being obliged to turn up for work without getting paid isn’t employment, it’s indentured labor.

I'd be remiss not to note that it took us 20 years and three civil wars to get that SOB's head on the block.

So not an out-and-out precedent 😉
ahiggitt.bsky.social
Yeah. I probably should have mentioned how that ended 😂
ahiggitt.bsky.social
Oh yeah. Should probably add that we cut off his head in the end.

One of our Kings tried to pull this shit once. He refused to summon Parliament because he didn’t like what they were going to vote for, in part because he’d plunged the country into penury trying to strong-arm a crony into a top foreign job.

That was 1629.

I think Trump would rather Congress never vote to reopen the government than let Adelrita Grijalva trigger the Epstein Files discharge. And I bet he doesn’t have a plan other than the Insurrection Act.

Antiphantom

Are we absolutely sure Donald Trump hasn't seen "Team America World Police" lately and now thinks the F.A.G is Antifa?

Bondi: "Bondi: "Just like we did with cartels, we are going to take the same approach, President Trump, with antifa -- destroy the entire organization from top to bottom. We are going to take them apart."

"Anyone can do a decent leader's speech" says Andrew Fisher, whose principal Jeremy Corbyn was so bad at doing a leaders' speech he literally read out a speech cue.

I cannot dislike Sir Mel Stride, even when he's on my telly talking a load of old cobblers, as now.

He reminds me of the sort of decent, pragmatic, humane Tory, like Ken Clarke, purged by Dominic Cummings and set for permanent exile because of the Kemi Badenoch's absurd ECHR purity test.
ahiggitt.bsky.social
Seriously, if George Soros stumped for this as part of a radical left insurrection he should be demanding a refund.

All these headlines saying “Bondi Goes on the Attack.” Really? She wasn’t in the octagon, she’s a public servant who was at an oversight hearing. Her job was to answer questions. She refused to do her job. Stop glamorizing and whitewashing this moronic, performative bullshit.

If the Mark Zuckerberg character from Alien: Earth doesn't end up with a sizable abdominal cavity I'm going to be real disappointed.

Fucking nailed on given the absolute shambles that is the prosecution, I'd say.

CNN: The judge presiding over the prosecution of Jim Comey has agreed to Comey’s request to schedule a near term trial. Comey asked for a Jan 12 trial date. The judge went with Jan 5. Comey is counting on the gov’t not being ready for trial. A good bet.

So you have a strongly-held opinion about who should sing songs half way through the Superbowl but you don't have a view on whether or not Chicago's mayor and Illinois' governor should be in jail?

Got it.
atrupar.com
Q: Do you agree that the mayor of Chicago and governor of Illinois should be in prison?

MIKE JOHNSON: Should they be in prison? I'm not the attorney general. I'm not following the day to day on that

Today, Senator Kaine and I will force the Senate to vote on the administration’s decision to blow up ships in the Caribbean.

If a president can unilaterally put people or groups on a list and kill them, there is no meaningful limit to his use of force.

Someone in the Oval is going to try and have that "getting on your nerves is not technically a felony yet" conversation again.

Chicago Mayor should be in jail for failing to protect Ice Officers! Governor Pritzker also!

Pecan. Definitely. You'd have to be retarded to pronounce it pecan.

hi guys which way do you pronounce this: pecan or pecan

Kinda ballsy sneering when you reflect that the Rachel in question (not Cunliffe) has managed to become Chancellor of the Exchequer while her critic is the widely derided leader of a widely derided party.
