I've seen babies with pertussis (whooping cough). I've seen them struggle to breathe in an ICU crib.
If you haven't ever seen this, you can thank vaccines.
If you don't want to ever see this, we need to maintain high immunization rates.
It's really that simple.
Antivaxers want to see what life is like without vaccines. I got you.

Whooping Cough in an infant.

96% of all whooping cough deaths occur in infants.

But no, do you...

Thread for anyone in Baltimore/MD generally. We’re really trying to make something happen quickly, because her situation is deteriorating. We had initially thought New Mexico would be a good solution but Maryland would allow us to be close and give her some much-needed in person help
hi friends.

I have a young trans woman (age 23) who I have been effectively parenting from a distance for the last few years. Now we are trying to help get her out of Texas.

Polio has been detected in wastewater in NY for some time - so it’s out there and probably elsewhere too. For those of us on the older side who were vaccinated against polio decades ago, the CDC recommends a booster. Check with your healthcare provider to see if you should get one.
