The report provides a series of recommendations for policy and practice that are targeted pre-release, through-the-gate, and post-release to improve outcomes and assist in the resettlement of those who serve the longest sentences.

It provides insights into how release and resettlement was anticipated, prepared for, experienced, and continuously navigated even many years later in the community (focusing on experiences of release, experiences with probation, barriers to resettlement and support received upon release).

🚨I'm very excited to announce the launch of my report: Release from long-term imprisonment. This report is based on a new empirical study I conducted last year into the release experiences of people who have served very long prison sentences.

BREAKING: A federal judge ruled all transgender and intersex people can obtain passports that align with their gender identity while the case against President Trump's executive order proceeds.

While this is good news, we will continue fighting until this executive order is blocked permanently.

Excited to announce the 3rd run of our PhD conference for doctoral students researching in areas of criminology and criminal justice!

We welcome submissions from PhDs at any stage of their degree, from the UK and abroad.

Have any of my followers submitted applications for/been successful in applying for the ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowship? And if so, would they be willing to have chat about it? I've seen a few examples in other disciplines but nothing from criminology/law. 🤞

This year, I've decided to do my first 'Avoidant Advent' calendar. I've made a list of 24 jobs I've been putting off and am aiming to tick them off one by one to avoid taking them into the new year✅ Of course, there's also a chocolate reward for doing so...🍫
Anyone else doing anything new this year?

Yesterday some friends and I went to the Koestler Arts exhibit at Southbank, entitled ‘No Comment’. The exhibition was incredibly powerful and moving. It’s free and there until the 15th, so please go and see it!
