I’m very sad at the news about Manchán Magan. He was such a gentle treasure. A few years ago he was giving out lesser used words as Gaeilge to people to take care of and use. I got MAIGHRE, which he described as someone being “a bit of a stunner”. He was an absolute maighre himself, gone too soon.

This is a sad one, but I learned that undertakers and embalmers from across the UK volunteered to assist with the Aberfan tragedy in Wales due to the number of victims and struggle to identify children. It just put an added layer of sadness on the whole story for me.
