You also learn to never ever shed breaks though.

You also learn to never ever shed breaks though.
Yes, and the recovery is always weird after, you are like— “Maybe I’m able” and your body says no, you then feel drained but progressively feel more rested as you take more breaks.
But also any breaks never feel very much long enough, it’s very annoying. Once it passes you enjoy rest more though

Adding in the educational cuts which, personally plan-wise I saw a 40% tuition cost hike. I am not sure the direction The Netherlands is headed-in but hopefully it can still be competitive on the world-stage.
Education is simply a massive part of that, and also the integration of migrants long-term.

Well to add, upon looking into it, not even the US is this stringent around naturalization.
I thought of other European countries but, unlike other European countries, Netherlands is still pushing for a globally competitve economy, and pretty much always has.
This policy change seems backwards.

That’s fair. More time to acclimate, even if it’s not a guarantee. I think some migrants would be affected planning-wise. Although hopefully not by much.
But, Permanent residence permits being changed would probably set off more alarms.

Well why increase the time necessary, when you could just necessitate a higher language proficiency?

2/2 Normally, the basic rule is: wait a a day or more if there is uncertainty regarding motives. But if a horrible murder is used to create a moral panic, it is important, also for experts, to stress such an ambivalence and not cast blame too soon in a specific direction.
