Exactement! Before I saw your reply, I was about to write:
This is precidely the Macron strategy. Look how well that's working out!

I'm just seeing your reply: I agree completely. Much more is needed, but at least this initiative seemed headed in the right direction. Alas, whatever it's benefits seem likely to be drowned in Starmer's and Labour right's desperate desire to out-Farage "Reform".

Absolutely - perhaps (hopefully?) too late to save Starmer, but a project a renewed Labour party would be wise to pursue.

This is a welcome shift but it should have been the strategy from day one. The rise of support for Reform is not really about immigration. Support for Reform is highest in those areas with *low* migration, but high deprivation. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

As TV dramas go, "The Hack" is brilliant. Watch it.

It's fun - and a crucial reminder of the dangerous nexus between media giants, police & politicians that has distorted British politics.

84% of Labour Party members want the government to end the two-child benefit limit.

In a country as wealthy as the UK, allowing child poverty to deepen is a political choice. Labour must choose differently.

The Bubble Nebula, in the constellation of Cassiopeia. The bubble itself is a shell of material cast off by the intense winds of the bright star SAO 20575 inside. The radiation also illuminates a vast cloud which surrounds the region, causing it to glow the characteristic red of ionized hydrogen. 🔭
A red cloud surrounded by many hundreds of stars. There are several very bright blue, white, and yellow stars with prominent diffraction spikes. Near the center of the red cloud is a somewhat fainter pinkish ring, somewhat like a soap bubble.
