The Wall Street Journal's editorial board attacks European welfare state spending at the same time as American families are spending about $30,000 a year on health insurance premiums (for high-deductible plans).

America right now if Democrats had nominated Pete Buttigieg in 2020 instead of Joe Biden.

Good messaging. Hopefully Texas Democrats choose wisely.

What is the "something"?

Does Kamala Harris genuinely care about any major public policy issues?

“A study of nearly 200,000 California schoolchildren found that their mental health had improved significantly after schools reopened for in-person learning in 2021, evidence that its authors said shows that the risks of prolonged shutdowns were greater than policymakers understood at the time.”

Seems bad to have said this if you're running for the Senate from Texas. Maybe don't nominate this person.

Yikes.

Joe and Jill Biden have some ownership of this.

It's tremendously upsetting to revisit the debate.

Everyone behind Joe Biden's disastrous reelection campaign should be deeply ashamed of themselves -- and accept partial responsibility for the horror show we're living through right now.

One can convey a reasonably conservative message on immigration and integration without sounding like an unhinged racist. Though I'm on the center-left and uninterested in Republican electoral success, I would nonetheless submit that it would behoove them to reject MAGA's extremism.

I think about this a lot.

"Nonresidents will pay a new $100/person fee (in addition to the usual entry fee) at 11 of the most visited Parks."

A foreign tourist in a rental car will have to pay $135 to visit Yellowstone or the Grand Canyon.

Pure abuse. Appalling.

The reality is that most of our cities are under-policed, given current levels of crime and disorder.

These violent street takeovers must be crushed with firm-but-fair responses.

Horrific.

Again, this is New York.

This is the sort of stuff that Venezuelans endured at CECOT — but in New York!

"The chatty subway rider allegedly responded by punching the victim several times in the face before stabbing him in the abdomen, according to police."

This is why so many of us are afraid to confront rule-breakers on transit and want more police.

This speaks to the intensity of the loathing many Americans feel toward Joe Biden -- both his failed presidency and his character flaws (especially selfishness).

New York City is not remotely comparable to an Iowa college town.

No major global city on this planet has free public transportation.

Following Charlie Kirk's tragic assassination, @jd-vance-1.bsky.social correctly encouraged everyone to lower the temperature.

Will he invite President Trump to do the same?

We should use words like "misogyny" and "attempted femicide" to describe what happened on the CTA train.

Why don't we use those words in this country? Women are routinely singled out by unstable, angry men for violence and abuse. We have a misogyny crisis.
