Mostly typing.
Next up in the Bleasdale Retrospective. I remember Pat Mills mentioning it in an interview about Charley’s War and that it caused a fuss when broadcast. Not as hard to track down as The Mad Death was, but not far off.

STP again. This one’s lovingly lifted from “Elves Were Bastards” (1992).

Getting to the real meat of my current The Boys From The Blackstuff/Bleasdale immersion now. (Fairly sure I was allowed to stay up and watch this episode as a 1982 Hallowe’en treat.)

Decided to go back to the source. I’m not sure if this counts as ‘escapism’ or not.

Long been a sucker for dubious tribute albums. Some of these don’t seem to’ve escaped into the wild either, so I’m quite chuffed with my first 2026 postal delivery. This may well be a temporary situation…

Having successfully belted through Jake’s Progress (despite all those fucking adverts), the 2026 Bleasdale retrospective continues with the *other* influence for Skizz.

Continuing with 2026’s cheery theme - braced for lots of breaks to allow the tedious and unskippable ads to play unwatched to an empty room.

The way the press is treating chatbots, like they have agency and they “know” things all of a sudden, crossed the line recently from dumb and obsequious to something else entirely. Treating them as alive and making conscious decisions is an almost religious belief. It won’t age well.

I’d quite forgotten G.B.H.’s unexpected Doctor Who Convention.

Quoting STP from a time before the fungal-like growth of Techbro-Tier Bond Villains. Merry National Scientifiction Day to anyone who celebrates. (Or has actually heard of it.)

Behind door number 23 of the Scarred For Life advent calendar... They've got plenty. Have you got plenty? Plenty of longpig for the Xmas roast. It's the now-infamous, and deeply eerie, early 80s British Pork advert!

Can’t think why this particular paragraph in Terry Pratchett’s ‘Advice To Booksellers’ (from way back in 1999) caught my eye today.

Casual reminder that the myth of “pulling yourself up by your bootstraps” is a cruel hoax designed to convince poor people from all walks of life that the injustices they face are a result of their own actions, rather than an oppressive system rigged against them.

Acting styles collide as Columbo encounters T.J. Hooker in a seriously meta episode. (Chekov and Bruce From Jaws also make cameos.)
