thank you 💖 I am really looking forward to doing comics again! We're just doing the best we can. I do not possess the energy or motivation to pursue cons more than the few fairs I already do. I feel like we'll always be learning! Good to check in with ourselves ^^

Anyway if one thing is true across the board, it's probably that we creators are always reevaluating what's working and what isn't.

And it's time for me to put more effort into stories again. I'm sorry for the long hiatus, but I'm coming back home 💖

But the thing I've really built my art, my brand on, has been stories. And letting one of those go into a long hiatus so I could pursue market and con stuff wasn't a great idea for the story side of things, but I also needed the money, so I put more effort into vending.

Sometimes events surprise you, no matter how long you've been at it. I will take a chance on a local event being a flop because I didn't need to get a hotel and drive for hours. I definitely did the "throw stuff at a wall" thing way more when I was just starting out and I do not regret it!

I'm pretty aware of my "seasons" as an artist now, like when I am busy, when I withdraw into create mode and when I'm more willing to try things that I haven't established into my routine.

Covid also gave me new energy limitations, so that's been... fun.

The longer you create, the more awareness you have for how you (specifically) work. Something that isn't worth it to one artist doesn't mean it's worthless in general.

For me, it just means I will need to spend energy/time I do not have for it, and it will likely drain me for my other stuff.

When I was in my 20's the big things I was told to get into were commissions and cons. And it's great if you love those things! But I didn't, so I just felt like I'd get nowhere with my art. Anyway I'm still here doing stuff.

The big takeaway is we are all unique with different situations.
