Our country is filled with fear. Kids cannot be kids and will be traumatized for years. So… how’s that “Christian nation” thing working out for you? #hypocrites

The main issue I have with the destruction of the East Wing of the White House is how nothing is asked or said about the Presidential Emergency Operations Center. This is a secure office and bunker to be used during any dangerous event. So, why no news about it? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preside...

There are so many ways that I know I’m old. For example, when protesting, when the authorities show up to push back, that’s hard to do if all of you are sitting down. Who knew that nugget of knowledge would be needed again?

Pam Bondi is a stooge. She gets told what to do then just does it and lays on a legal face to say it’s justified. Stephen Miller is the real culprit. Russ Vought is the project manager. The goal? Take over the federal government and maintain power by implementing white Christian nationalism.

So Paramount has bought Bari Weiss’ Free Press so CBS News can appeal to a centrist audience. Know what steams my clams? Bari’s Free Press has 1.5 million subscribers. Impressive. But only less than 12% pay for it. Not so impressive. But you do you CBS. * slow clapping *

“Death of a demagogue”. I read these words in an opinion piece, referring to the murder of Charlie Kirk. Look up the word demagogue. It’s amazingly appropriate. Now, a demagogue shouldn’t be murdered. No one should. But his life and actions certainly do fit the definition. Sad. True but sad.

Mabel had knee surgery 8 weeks ago for a torn ligament. She had been confined to doggie jail since and it’s been rough on her. No jumping, no playing. Well she has now been released from doggie jail with a clean bill of health. So we can now let up on the sofa for cuddles. She’s so happy!

“The Radical Left”. Trump and other fling this phrase around like it’s a badge of shame. However, I wear it proudly. Caring for others, expressing the United States as it should be, sharing our wealth and not hoarding it, lifting us all instead of only the rich.

Trump has tasked Scott Bessent, Bill Pulte, and Howard Lutnick with developing a plan to privatize Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Thus the end of affordable mortgages and the American Dream of home ownership.

I just read this today. “There is nothing in the middle of the road except yellow lines and dead armadillos.”

Love it!

I love this one. So very, very true. But, 2nd amendment… nevermind that there are others. And god forbid POC have weapons! Why that would be illegal, right?
August 28, 2025 at 1:50 PM
So… in the name of the hallowed 2nd Amendment, we need access to all the guns. You know, just in case we need to overthrow a tyrannical govt. But when we actually have a tyrannical govt, they and their guns are nowhere to be found. Oh except for shooting at kids in churches.

Got it.

On a cold Chicago winter night,
The clouds reflect the city’s light.
Slightly disturbed at such a sight
But knowing all will be just right.

I am amazed at the outrage over a rainbow. From MAGA getting offended to Ron Disappointment in FL painting over the rainbow crosswalk, both have lost the beauty of a gift from both nature, religion and science. Regardless of what you believe, rainbows are beautiful and remind us we belong.

When the sun glimmers on the lake, can you stay sad? I can’t.

This is one of my favorite photos. I took it going on a business trip. I find little joys where I can.

Our Mabel’s knee surgery checkup was terrific. Only about 4 more weeks until we can release her from the doggie pen we have set up in our living room. Then she can go to doggie day care and romp with her friends again! Yay!

Here’s a tip. If you follow me and have lots of selfies, you are probably going to be blocked by me. Additionally, should I follow you back and you ask me any of the following questions: are you married? How old are you? Where do you live? then I’ll also block you since that’s covered in my profile.

Knee surgery blues. Doing good but still healing.

On her most recent walk, my thoughts ran away, imagining life without her. She’s young so that’s not likely to happen any time soon. But… the thought saddened me greatly. I sat with her for a bit and she kissed away the sadness. She’s the best.

Those in power here in the US use Social Security as a weapon. The rich want to get their hands on it to make even more money. The Dems use it to gather votes. Note that neither party really cares if we get our checks every month or not. Sickening.

I never thought I’d actually live long enough to be 68 yrs old. But here I am. My greatest desire at this point? Sneakers that a) slip on and b) don’t feel like my feet are being strangled.

Thoughts?
