I understand the concept of seasonal reading, but I don't practice it. Because why did I look at this book and be like this is perfect to read around Christmas? #booksky

I've had my eyes on this for a while, and I finally got a physical copy. Brown Girl in The Ring is a speculative fiction that highlights Caribbean culture in a dystopian version of Toronto. #booksky #fantasybooksky #scifibooks

Some queer book recommendations from me ( yes, I somehow managed to do this without including Gideon the Ninth). As always, you should read diversely all year round 🏳️‍🌈

This one is for the scifi-fantasy diet section. A beautiful character-driven narrative about the wealthy former gifted kids who became deeply dysfunctional adults. I really liked the characters and messaging, but the fantasy/scifi elements are underutilized.

This is the first book I read by Silvia Moreno-Garcia. I have to say I love the writing style; it's immersive without being overly descriptive. It is a slower, more character focused story. I would have rated it higher, but one of the relationships/situations is a bit questionable. 3⭐️ #booksky

Omg this was sooooo good. I don't think I've ever cared so much about characters in a book. It was so fun but had me crying too. So many lessons about loneliness, feeling lost, making mistakes and the importance of community. #booksky #thriller

This was for the Shakespeare fans which is not me🤣. I can't rate this as I think a lot of the references went over my head. From what I did get, it seems like a great character driven story. #booksky

Here is a little wrap-up of everything I read this year so far. I ended up really enjoying the Emily Wilde Series. Legendborn was a standout, but I have mixed feelings about the second book. I'm definitely gonna read A Master of Djinn soon #fantasybooksky #booksky
