Damn, I wish we had enough engaged and alert citizens that we could actually do a full fledged no work, no buy strike. If we could do that over a couple of days, it would have a major effect. I just don't have enough faith in my fellow citizens to see people stop buying items or staying home.

Who are these 'private donors' that are paying for the destruction of the East Wing to put up a ballroom? How much $ did each donor contribute? Who are the contractors? We know it didn't go through Congress for approval. Were city codes consulted? Were permits gotten? An investigator's gold mine.

I don't know why anyone is shocked by the way the repubs are handling this shutdown. They repeatedly tell us they hate government. They never planned on working towards its success, they just want to tear it down to prove their point. They are implementing Project 2025 in our faces.

Reading all this optimism about 2026 elections, the Dems better damn well have a playbook written and ready to implement when they gain control of Congress again. No pussy footing around and believing the repubs have any good intentions or plan to 'play fair'.
