Our book explores the relationship between health systems, health services, and inequalities in population health. We argue that the separate development of these three fields has led to a neglect of their collective influence on #HealthInequalities 2/7

Good short read to understand university financing. It’s baffling to me how many folk who work in HE are completely unaware of things like this (see also: admissions, targets, marketing) 🙃

Very few people seem to understand university finances and, distressingly, this includes many academics and most policymakers. This is an attempt to condense the key points you need to know. open.substack.com/pub/profseri...

The cut to the UK ODA aid budget, to increase the defence budget, was announced without a vote. www.cgdev.org/blog/breakin...
It risks the overseas aid budget being reduced to 0.1% of GDP with the remainder being spent within the UK.
Where is the outrage?

Elevated risk of premature death among care-experienced youth
External causes of death remain disproportionately high even after adjusting for common sociodemographic and health factors
Current confounders do not fully explain the elevated external mortality risk

On yday’s @TheNewsAgents I said that the biggest problem for Reeves is that the politics she’s trying to tell and the economics of where she is are out of alignment. She’s trying to say she’s improved the economy and can therefore spend (in some places).

And that just got worse
