Bungalow Bill

Yet another Chicago resident exploring the Bluski. Actively resisting curmudgeonly tendencies.
Key difference may be that Lightfoot was never the choice of Chicago’s elected progressive establishment (who backed Preckwinkle in 2019) while Johnson was their guy from the start.

While I’ve never been a huge fan of Vallas, there was a time when he seemed to be operating in good faith. I could at least respect he was trying to be thoughtful.

Something has really flipped with him, though. Appears to resent the folks he wants to serve. Bitter, indignant to face opposition.

Great for them pushing back. And a relief to finally have an NLRB with some sense!

Dedicated space seems like it could make for better shows, too, versus hasty pop-ups.

There’s been stuff up here in Independence Park I don’t mind. But there’s got to be neighborhood buy-in, not lopsided power dynamics.

And the campfire rule, right? Never leave things worse than you found them.

What was even their attempted reasoning? Really wish this sort of thing got more attention. Congrats on the win.

I’ll admit to craving a little earnestness after too long on the other app. But I won’t pretend we’re saving the world here or anything. (Are we?)

A true public servant! Don’t think I’d have known this otherwise. Kind of an odd feature for a place that’s trying to get a community off the ground, isn’t it?
